Kutjevo, southern slopes of Krndija, Rosenberg vineyards at elevations between 240 and 300 masl – Chardonnay grapes, rated as quality wine with AOC, dry, 13.5 % of alcohol by volume, unfiltered, 0.75 litres.
The wine is ranked among the top quality products of Krauthaker vinery. Complex, with plenty of freshness and fruity aromas supported by spice overtones, albeit measured and exquisitely pronounced. Matured substantially in oak – barrique is used precisely to achieve the greater complexity – and partly in stainless steel vats to preserve the freshness and fruitiness. It is of brighter, vibrant straw-yellow colour with gentle greenish hue, (at first) relatively discrete on the nose, bouquet hinting at white home-grown drupes and a trace of citruses intertwined with threads of vanilla and lemon peel, a touch of wood and smoke. Proves very vibrant on the palate, with good acidity combined with entirely mild delectability, nicely creamy and rounded, warm, with solid body and fruity and vibrant finish lasting considerably, retro-nasal with a nuance of smoke. The wine may still mature successfully.
Serve in a larger and broad glass at temperatures of approximately 13 to 14 degrees Centigrade, accompanied with oven roasted fish, brodetto, roast veal, veal and/or lamb roasted under a baking lid.
